Exciting opportunities for rural Family Practice Physicians in the Cariboo-Chilcotin region in BC. Come join the collegial Emergency team with 6 full time ER physicians in Williams Lake.

 

In this rural community, you can still practice emergency medicine without CCFP-EM. Shifts are currently single-coverage 24/7 ER but we are hoping to add a permanent overlap shift. Shifts are 8 hours in sets of 6 on /6 off with 2 mornings, 2 afternoons and 2 nights consecutive which works out to around 14-16 shifts per month.

 

You will see a broad range of interesting cases with high volume and acuity. You are well supported by specialists in Internal Medicine, Ob/Gyn, General Surgery, Pediatrics and Psychiatry. The Cariboo Memorial Hospital (CMH) is part of the rural teaching program for UBC Medical School. The ER will regularly have medical students and residents that you can provide teaching opportunities. Within the medical community, there are many other opportunities if you desire to broad our scope of practice too.
