If you are a family physician with emergency medicine or obstetrics skills, now may be the perfect time for an adventure in the Northwest Territories! Urgent summer locums are needed in Yellowknife for July and August. Come and enjoy the fabulous NWT summer, paddling under the midnight sun, and enjoying a new experience with great colleagues. 

 

Emergency Physicians with CCFP-EM designation (or equivalent experience) will work at the Stanton Territorial Hospital during 8 or 9-hour shifts. The emergency department has a total population catchment of 50,000 people and sees an average of 17,500 on average emergency department visits each year.  

 

Physicians with low-risk obstetrics will have a mix of clinic and labour & delivery and see 500 births per year on average.   

 

We pay a locum daily rate based on the area of practice as well as your travel and accommodation. Typically, these positions require CCFP certification and must be eligible for licensure to practice in the Northwest Territories.
