Overview: The UBC Division of Palliative Care invites you to this year’s virtual CME Day, “Back to the Future: Essentials of Modern Palliative Medicine”, aiming to enhance your practice when caring for patients with palliative care needs. We have a multidisciplinary lineup of speakers presenting a wide range of topics, from evidence-based opioid conversions to the delivery of palliative care to First Nation communities in BC. The keynote speaker is Dr. Mary Lynn McPherson - Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science at the University of Maryland and author of “Demystifying Opioid Conversion Calculations: A Guide for Effective Dosing”. Our topics have been curated to cater to physicians and allied health professionals of all backgrounds interested in the palliative approach to care. Join us for a thought-provoking and engaging virtual event where we will dive deep into modern essentials and uncover how we can better support our patients, our teams and ourselves.
