Bethune Round Table 2022: Decolonizing Global Surgery, hosted by UBC. The conference is fully virtual, June 16-19 2022, and will highlight a lot of grassroots initiatives, for example in Indigenous communities, and in rural areas.

The Canadian Network for International Surgery (CNIS), in association with the Branch for International Surgical Care at UBC, is very proud to announce the Bethune Round Table 2022!

The Bethune Round Table (BRT) is an annual interdisciplinary meeting aimed at addressing the challenges of providing accessible, high-quality surgical care to marginalized patients in low-resource settings.

By bringing health professionals across a variety of disciplines together, we are able to share strategies and create solutions for improving surgical care to these under-serviced regions.

The Bethune Round Table 2021 will be taking place virtually, June 16 – 19 and will be hosted by BISC,in co-operation with the CNIS. The theme for the BRT 2022 is “Decolonization Global Health”.

The keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Salome Maswime, Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Head of Global Surgery at the University of Cape Town.
