Date: Friday, November 29th, 2019, 1.00 – 4.15pm

Location: Noojmowin Teg Health Centre, Aundeck Omni Kaning, Little Current, ON.

This three-hour workshop provides an introductory session to clinicians and healthcare professionals starting to diagnose and treat ADHD.  Attendees will be provided with access to download the Canadian ADHD Practice Guidelines, 4th Edition (2018) and a print version of the ADHD toolkit. Using real life case scenarios and small group discussions, participants will be able to recognize ADHD and comorbid disorders and apply evidence-based treatments to address the challenges faced by children, adolescents and adults. A reflective exercise must be completed in the two months post-workshop to obtain Mainpro+ certification.

 

Learning Objectives

  1. Diagnose ADHD using clinical history and validated screening tools
  2. Use the Canadian ADHD Practice Guidelines, 4th edition to support assessment and ongoing management
  3. Confidently manage ADHD in a primary care setting.

*This Group Learning program has been certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada for up to 9 Mainpro+ credits.
