HEALTH ORGANIZATIONS
Click on the health organizations below to find useful information, tools, and resources relating to COVID-19 and specific health conditions.
The Rural & Isolated Support Endeavour (RISE) was created by the SRPC Student Committee. Their goal is to assist those experiencing isolation due to COVID-19 in rural Canada. They partner health professional students with people in rural communities across Canada to provide regular informal check-ins and social connection via phone and/or video platforms.
If you are interested in referring a patient of yours to RISE, please fill out the RISE Physician Referral Form. We will reach out to the client and get them to fill out a separate form with more details, our consent form, and the terms and conditions of participation in RISE. If your patient does not have access to a computer to fill out this form, we will be able to verbally collect the information needed when we contact them over the phone.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the RISE team at rise.srpc@gmail.com.
RURAL OUTREACH & MENTORSHIP INITIATIVE (ROMI)
Created by the SRPC Student Committee, the Rural Outreach & Mentorship Initiative (ROMI) focuses on engaging rural youth to promote interest in health, wellness, and medicine. This is accomplished through mentorship and tutoring programs, social media, and youth-focused knowledge translation.
If you know or care for youth who may be interested, please pass along the following posters and sign-up links:
