Rural News Ceases Production
It's been seven good years of
providing rural relevant medical news to physicians, hospitals,
planners and others in Canada and around the world. I've really
enjoyed it and hope that people have found the endeavour useful.
The banner says in 20 point font 'Keeping the Rural Doctor
Informed.' Our intention was always to highlight rural goings on
and, through that knowledge, unite people so rural doctors could feel
part of a larger rural medical community. Over the years I have had
many emails that lead me to believe it did just that. I
think I have typed all that I needed to. The News is still out
there, your editor is taking a break. Thanks for all your support
over the years.

Our very own president elect Michael Jong was awarded Newfoundland and Labrador’s family physician of the
year. We at the society have long known the quality in our
leadership. It is always nice to know that others see it as
well. His award reflects many of his virtues as a great
rural family doctor, educator of family doctors to be and even the
occasional researcher. We can expect great things from him
in the next two years as he assumes the presidency of the Society of
Rural Physicians of Canada at our next Rural and Remote Conference in Winnipeg on April 20th, 2006. Well Deserved Michael! See Nexus Article
